Job Description:
Position Summary: The Household Expense Recovery Specialist is
responsible for evaluating collection and recovery opportunities
associated with consumer household expenses paid by The Company to
retrieve and safeguard our corporately owned vehicles (0723) and to
repair non-accident-related repairs (but not actual auto physical
damages to the vehicle resulting from accidents). This role will
identify contractual and legal liability and assertively pursue,
negotiate, and settle expense recovery opportunities and disputes.
The Household Expense Recovery Specialist will research,
coordinate, and negotiate with our consumer household renters. They
will work with other departments, insurance adjustors, and others
to obtain the necessary evidence and documentation to determine the
appropriate avenue and method for each recovery opportunity. The
Household Recovery Specialist will be skilled in analyzing and
investigating 24/7 expenses and making prompt and sound business
decisions. Strong negotiation skills to obtain the highest
settlement possible while adhering to Company policies and
procedures and safeguarding our reputation in the industry. Major
Responsibilities: Handling Disputes and Adhering to Compliance and
Regulations: Investigate, analyze, and determine that our consumer
household renter was responsible for 24/7 expenses incurred and
paid by Penske to retrieve and safeguard corporately owned vehicles
(0723), as well as to make non-accident-related repairs, that the
consumer household renter caused in violation of the controlling
rental agreement. Careful analysis of and interpretation of the
facts as well as contracts such as Rental Agreements, repair or
service invoices and/or estimates, associated to the recovery
opportunity. Expense Research and Recovery Documentation: Research
and obtain supporting documentation for all expenses associated to
the recovery opportunity, including invoices, photographs, and
incident billing expenses. This includes navigating systems
including Rental Net, Unit Jacket File, Service Net, 24/7, Rental
Billing, Invoicing, AS/400 Recovery Negotiations or Collection
Efforts: Communicate and Prepare demands which includes
communication with our consumer household renters via telephone,
text, and/or email, along with supporting documentation to the
renter. Negotiate appropriate settlements based on evaluation of
all circumstances, renter's perspective, and arguments, as well as
the amount of the non-accident-related costs or expense The Company
incurred and paid because of the renter's negligence, incompetence,
and/or mistake, so as to recover the appropriate amount and
safeguard and promote The Company's Brand and reputation. Account
Management and Inter-Department Collaboration: Receive funds and
code to correct GLs to ensure appropriate financial application and
processing by accounts receivable. Communicate with stakeholders on
resolution and closure of file. Account Management and

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree preferred. If no degree,
equivalent work experience is required. Certified Subrogation
Recovery Professional (CSRP) preferred. Minimum of 2 years
experience in Liability Claims Examiner. Minimum of 1 year
experience in handling collection or subrogation claims is
preferred. Knowledge of AS400, Risk Management Information Systems
(RMIS), Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Knowledge of
SSO enabled applications (PRISM, Rental Net, Service Net, 24/7,
Gensuite, Citrix, Summit). Knowledge of TPA systems including
Riscfacs, Sysfacs. Knowledge of Penske Accounting structures and
impacts. Ability to support customers and adapt to their
challenging life events. Ability to work and make fact-based
decisions on their own in a timely manner. Be capable of addressing
urgent needs first and prioritize remaining work Ability to
navigate and use multiple computer programs at once. Ability to
create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of
the organization (peers, workgroups, customers, and leadership).
Ability to work independently and as a team member. Excellent oral
and written communication skills. Experience with recovering
amounts owed and/or collections is required. Strong negotiation and
conflict resolution skills. Regular, predictable, full attendance
is an essential function of the job. Willingness to travel as
necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific
location required, complete Penske employment application, submit
to a background investigation (to include past employment,
education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
