Sample Sewer

Job Description:

Adecco is currently loking for a PART-TIME Sample Sewer for a highly recognized apparel company.

The Sample Sewer will cut and sew patterns to generate first prototypes. They should be able to follow patterns and design sketches and create prototype samples by performing all manual and machine sewing applications. The candidate will be required to sew a variety of products for various categories (i.e. Outerwear, Compression, etc).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Execute component and/or complete sewing operations, within a team/modular approach, in order to provide full garment prototypes from a pattern

• Analyze manufacturing ?sew-ability? of patterns and provide feedback

• Propose new alternatives for sewing constructions that reduce product cost, improve quality, or produce innovative features

• Execute “mock-ups” or partial garments to show construction methods

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and understand English with sufficient to capably communicate with managers and co-workers

• Ability to understand Tech Packs (including specs/measurements), design sketches, and Technical construction sketches.

• Expert ability to execute component apparel sewing applications

• Experience with a wide variety of sewing machines and fabrications

• Willingness and aptitude to work in team environment

• Ability to perform basic maintenance and repairs on equipment a plus

• Knowledge of NOSO and/or SewSystems technology a plus

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum 4 years of production or prototype sewing operations.
