(RN)**\nJob Summary:\nAn Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) provides
specialized care to patients diagnosed with cancer, working closely
with oncology teams, including oncologists, radiation therapists,
and other healthcare professionals. The RN focuses on delivering
comprehensive care, administering treatments, managing symptoms,
and providing emotional support to cancer patients and their
families throughout the cancer care continuum.\n\nKey
Responsibilities:\n

- Assess, plan, and provide individualized nursing care to
oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or
other cancer treatments.\n
- Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and other cancer-related
medications in accordance with established protocols.\n
- Monitor patients for treatment-related side effects, such as
nausea, fatigue, pain, or infection, and provide supportive
care.\n
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary oncology teams to develop
and implement care plans tailored to the patient's specific
needs.\n
- Educate patients and families on cancer diagnosis, treatment
options, and self-care practices to improve outcomes.\n
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their
families, addressing the psychological impact of a cancer
diagnosis.\n
- Assist in managing cancer-related symptoms such as pain,
nausea, fatigue, and emotional distress.\n
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care,
treatment plans, and progress.\n
- Administer supportive therapies, such as blood transfusions,
pain management, and other interventions.\n
- Serve as an advocate for patients, ensuring access to necessary
resources, treatments, and support services.\n
- Participate in oncology-specific education, training, and
continuing professional development to stay current on cancer care
advancements.\n
- Monitor lab results, vital signs, and other diagnostic tests to
assess the patient's response to treatment.\n
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including handling and
administering chemotherapy safely.\n\n\nQualifications:\n

- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred;
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.\n
- Licensure:\n

- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of

- Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred.\n
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.\n\n\n
