exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Risk Consultant to
support our members primarily in Central and Eastern Washington and
Idaho.Position Summary:The Senior Clinical Risk Consultant is
responsible for on-going risk management support for assigned
account types, including physicians, clinics, hospitals,
multi-specialty health systems, and other alternative business
subscribers. This position is also responsible for conducting risk
evaluations and risk assessments and developing relevant risk
management content. The consultant will focus on driving change and
reducing risk exposures while developing a targeted service plan
for members and clients.Responsibilities:Responsibilities include
but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct risk evaluations and onsite risk assessments for
assigned accounts. Analyze systems and processes in complex
environments and recommend actions for improvement to be
incorporated into account-specific risk management plans.
- Consult on risk management issues via telephone, email and/or
in person. Provide risk consultation to internal and external
customers by conducting research and engaging subject matter
experts as necessary.
- Lead and/or participate in Risk Management projects to meet
emerging risk management trends and/or meet department goals.
- Develop risk management content, educational offerings, and
programs on current and relevant risk-related topics. Continually
review on an ongoing basis to ensure content remains accurate and
relevant and update content per department-established research
guidelines.
- Develop and deliver account specific educational offerings and
programs based on Risk Assessment outcomes or identified needs.
Collaborate with Risk Management Services Coordinator to facilitate
service offerings via established process.
- Collaborate with other internal departments to determine areas
of risk with existing and/or new accounts; participate in
developing and implementing interventions to mitigate risk
exposure.
- Participate in Risk Management department meetings and
represent the department at organizational meetings as
assigned.
- Maintain active knowledge and expertise in current risk
management issues and trends; demonstrated by participating in
continuing educational opportunities.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as
required.Requirements / Qualifications:
- Active RN license required
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) or Bachelor's
degree in a healthcare-related field
- Five plus years of risk management experience in a clinical
setting, including a hospital or multi-specialty health system
environment
- A valid driver's license required with the ability to travel up
to 50% to assigned accounts and other locations as necessary to
accomplish department goals. Travel destinations include the
company office as well as national travel for account visits and
professional engagements as necessary
- Excellent planning, organizational, time management, and
prioritization skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills and
demonstrated knowledge of medical malpractice insurance, patient
safety, and risk management
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent grammar, writing, and proofreading skills, with an
attention to detail
- Demonstrated technical ability to work with Microsoft Office
Suite and other software applications
- Strong commitment to customer service and quality
improvement
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a
collaborative team environment
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM),
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Associate in
Risk Management (ARM), or other related certification preferredThe
salary range for this position is $112,000 to $178,600. Starting
salary is determined by several factors, including job-related
skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This
position is also eligible for an annual company bonus at an
