Estimators at Gilbane are heavily involved in generating estimating deliverables required on projects. This role will sit primarily in the office, but may travel to the project job sites meeting with the project teams and subcontractors. Who are we? Responsibilities









Review and understand all project plans, requirements and specifications

• Coordinate and supervise a team of estimators to develop large, multi-disciplinary estimates.
• Determine labor and equipment costs
• Review and understand all bid documents and assess project risks
• Understand project logistics and project schedule
• Prepare bid packages and compare and analyze competitive subcontract and supplier bids
• Review quotes and estimates with Project Team and prepare recommendations
• Interface with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction
• Accurately develop cost models
• Track and report on current material and labor prices, including escalation
• Develop meaningful VE contributions to reduce price
• Reconcile quantity surveys with consultants and design team
• Identify escalation factors in marketplace for specific materials and labor rates
• Responsible for sound conceptual pricing assumptions with sound documentation for the basis of the estimate

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• 7-10+ years of estimating experience in the construction industry in key markets (healthcare, higher education, commercial, life sciences, K-12, etc.)
• Or equivalent combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Ability to lead the estimating process and deliverable for projects throughout the design phase
• Extensive knowledge of On-Screen Take-off, Destini, and Site work software tools for take-offs
• Ability to present estimating deliverables (internally and externally) and participates in interviews during the pursuit phase
• Ability to conceptually estimate projects with limited information
• Ability to estimate multiple facility types such as residential high rise, healthcare, interiors and institutional
• Ability to estimate within multiple delivery methods
• Ability to maintain healthy working relationships with industry partners (Owners, designers, subcontractors, etc.) for the development of estimating deliverablesSalary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
  For Arlington, VA this ranges from $116,800.00 - $160,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
